Most of this makes sense, but do you really think owning stocks means democratic governance? How many US citizens had to buy their voting share? Can we wealthy folks buy more shares for more votes or only game the system through PACs?

I think it's fairer to say that:

one person, one vote = democracy

one share, one vote = plutocracy

Wonderful if the corporate shares are well-distributed, but the modern game of monopoly always has one person getting all the wealth eventually.
