People keep thinking of it as a static race, as if Orion exists today (it doesn't, not as a product) and as if Vision Pro is the only thing to compare it to.

I can't speak for Apple, but I can guarantee that by the time Orion ever becomes an actual product (3-10 years) the world will be very different.

And before it shows real 3D AR content like in recent (carefully controlled) demos, any waveguide is likely to just be a simple HUD for the RayBans or similar glasses.
